The Friends Mission
To support the mission, operations, and growth of the Westhampton Memorial Library
Our Activities
The Friends have established many wonderful ways to support the library while developing our sense of community and offering benefits to Town residents.
- Garden Bulbs Fundraiser (fall): We sold over $2,500 in bulbs in this year's first bulb fundraiser. About 50% of that money goes straight to the library. Thanks to everyone who participated and enjoy the fall planting and spring beauty.
- Blossoms, Books, & Back rubs (spring): Plan to visit us in May to purchase beautiful flowers, ground covers, and foundation plants at our annual plant sale. Take a break from the greenery and relax with a complimentary massage or browse the many used books available for sale (and what prices)!
- Telephone Directory: Every two years we put out a Telephone Directory listing all town residents. This is a wonderful resources that Westhamptonites rely on throughout the year. You can purchase your copy at the Library!
- Capital Campaign: The Friends of the Library has kicked off a capital campaign to raise funds needed to build a new library. The state grant now totals $1.2 million. The campaign will raise approximately $700,000 from individuals, businesses, and grants in order to complete the Town Center Library Project.
- Membership Drive & Newsletters: We are always looking for more people who want to support our library. If you'd like to join the Friends, click here to print out a membership form and mail it in or drop it off at the library. We welcome your support! Also, keep your eyes open for our newsletters with the latest info!
Our Membership
There are currently over 200 members of the Friends! They contribute to our work with their backs (digging plants), hands (typing the directory), and hearts (building community). We are always looking for more wonderful people to add to our active members.Do you like to garden? Want to get better acquainted with your Westhampton Library Lovers? Like to bake? We could use your help! Come to a meeting or email the board to see if you'd like to get more involved.
Volunteer
If you would like to discuss any of the Friends activities or volunteer in any capacity or just come and hang out (we meet at the library on the second Wednesday of every month), send us (The Friends Board) an email:
